Eat as much as you like or can!

Our menu consists of 9 courses (16 dishes) which are prepared and presented one after the other. Of each (Rock lobster & Prawns are additional) you may eat as much as you like – or can! But this is not as easy as it sounds… The majority of the dishes is prepared in full view on open fires in front of you – this guarantees off–the-grid-fresh seafood – the only way to do it.

Our menu consists of 9 courses (16 dishes) which are prepared and presented one after the other. Of each (Rock lobster & Prawns are additional) you may eat as much as you like – or can! But this is not as easy as it sounds…
The majority of the dishes is prepared in full view on open fires in front of you – this guarantees off–the-grid-fresh seafood – the only way to do it.

Relax, wind down – we eat nearly for three hours! And remember, we will never run out of anything – the worst that can happen is that it is on its way!

But please, do not expect hand-crafted crystal glasses, or silver cutlery. You are on the “beach”, and here we do it as we would along the West Coast- you eat with a mussel shell. If you do not think you’ll like it, or if you are of the opinion that you deserve more from life, you will most definitely be more at ease in a fancy French restaurant.

*We donate all food that could not be finished (and there is normally a rather substantial amount of food left) to seriously needy families in the area. Nothing goes to waste here.

*Rates will be subject to a price increase from 1 December 2018

And of course, Pot Bread, which is baked throughout the meal, with farm butter and jam/preserve (Careful, this is the Delilah on the menu!)

Dishes:

1. Mussel meat, with onions, lots of garlic and farm butter
Mussels in half shell, steamed in onions and white wine
2. West Coast Snoek– with Sweet sweet potato– West Coast style
3. Seafood pot with 4 types of fish, calamari strips, mussels and cleaned prawn tails;
Rice (for those who want to catch the sauce);
Garden salad(we seldom talk about salads);
Vegetable dish with milk and cheese (even Karoo farmers tuck in)
4. Meat potjie (for those who don’t eat seafood)
5. Catch of the Day– with onions olive oil/butter- the chef will say
6. West Coast Rock Lobster/Whole Prawns – additional (for those who ordered it)
7. Calamari Steak– pan fried with onions and olive oil/butter (this is how it should taste)
8. Water Melon and Sweet Melon or Tropical Fruit (slides down your throat)
9. Coffee and Koeksisters(sorry – we do not do tea!)

We only make use of green SASSI* products in our buffet.

Menu is subject to seasons and availability

*PRAWNS ​are​ listed by Sassi as Orange, thus “Think twice”. We only use farmed prawns served whole in the shell – we do not devein our prawns. The delicate taste of prawns lies in the shell. We prepare and eat it like we do along the West Coast;

*WEST COAST ROCK LOBSTER is listed by Sassi as Red, thus “Don’t buy”. It is not part of our buffet and is additional. It is thus for you to decide.
